Information about Barbera Port, Somaliland
Berbera has a great potential for becoming the trade gateway to the Horn of Africa region, and to certain extent Eastern central and Southern parts of Africa.Situated at the southern entrance of the Red Sea and within a close proximity to the Arabian Sea and the waters of the Indian Ocean, the Port of Berbera could be turned into a major routing point for the flow of goods from and into a good number of Africa's economic regions.

Besides the maritime advantages, Berbera has an Airport (though its only major asset for the time being is its long runway) that could be developed into the busiest air facility in the region.

Special Documentation Requirement All Shipping agencies in Berbera are notified that effective from 08/05/2003, vessels or boats without manifest are not acceptable. All agents should inform their principals.The agency who fails to submit the cargo manifest will face a penalty of USD 3000 as per the customs law.
